President Emmerson Mnangagwa says it is through God’s mercy that Zimbabwe recorded low cases of Civid-19 as well as less fatalities compared to other countries globally.

Addressing the National Day of Fasting and Prayer meeting at State House, Mnangagwa described COVID-19 as a deadly pandemic of a catastrophic nature and thanked Zimbabweans for their cooperation and support of government’s response strategy.

“I take this opportunity to once again thank and appreciate the efforts of all Zimbabweans for their cooperation and support of the government’s response strategy to the COVID-19 pandemic. ivomec for sheep

The president said Zimbabwe would continue to make every effort humanly possible to curb the virus which he likened to a Biblical pestilence.

“We are however cognizant that the word of God teaches us that pestilences of this nature come upon mankind in these last days as a judgment and warning from the Almighty God who desires us to stop ignoring His laws and to turn to Him in repentance with all our hearts,” he said.

The world has recorded over 8 million COVID-19 cases and 436 000 deaths.

In Zimbabwe the impact of COVID-19 is being felt in the economy more after economic activity ground to a halt due to the government ordered lockdown which was designed to combat the spread of the disease. The government is now trying to restart an economy that was already struggling well before the coronavirus crisis.

The President has said the informal sector can now reopen but only under strict conditions including formal registration. ivermectin for ear infections
