The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, has revised its domestic tariff structure from four to six structures while at the same time reducing the tariffs for more consumption.

Instead of the usual four tariff buying structure, ZETDC announced in a statement that  consumers will now buy electricity in a six structure format giving more electric units and buying options.

ZETDC has reduced the last bandwidth from $16.50 to $10.39.

There were, however, increases in tariffs for consumers buying the 0-50 units and will now pay $1.73 from 1.63 per kWh.

The 51 to 100 units that were $3.27 per kWh have gone up to $3.46 while the 101 to 200 units is now costing $6.06 from $5.72 per kWh.

The purchase of 201-300 Units is now $ 8.66 per kWh, 49 cents more, while the new band of 301-400 Units which were $ 8.39 per kWh now fetches $9.96.
