The ZAOGA forward in Faith Ministries has declared a 30-day mourning to celebrate the death of their departed founding member Ezekiel Guti, who passed away on the 5th of July 2023
The month-long crying and celebrating was announced through a communique released by the church
“The 30-day celebration (mourning) period from 6 July 2023 to 5 August 2023”
The month-long period was linked to the scriptures and his death resembled that of Moses in the Bible
“and the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended” read the scripture
The church has also suspended all its activities during the period except for prayer meetings
The church is yet to announce the burial day and has encouraged people not to travel to Harare at the moment
“you are advised not to travel to Harare for these celebrations until the grand celebration date has been communicated” read the letter
Ezekiel Guti died on the 5th of July 2023 at the age of 100
