MDC president Nelson Chamisa has been cleared to present his “State of the Nation” address set for Mbare’s Stodart Hall tomorrow, it has emerged.

The party’s chairman for Harare province Wellington Chikomo confirmed that police had given the opposition movement clearance to go ahead with their programme.

“Police have cleared our event and we are busy now relaying the message to the provinces so that people come in their numbers to witness President Chamisa present the State of the Nation Address. This is an event one would not miss because issues will be articulated as they are,” he said.

Chikomo expressed sadness that police and government had banned most of their events though they always have peaceful gatherings. كيف تلعب روليت

“MDC has a record of organising peaceful events and even demonstrations but it is unfortunate that the police try to undermine that by banning all our gatherings. History will always set the record straight,” he said.

No comment could be obtained from police spokesperson Assistant Commission Paul Nyati at the time of writing.

Before the clearance, a furious Chamisa  took to Twitter to warn the police that he would go ahead with his event . كم عدد اوراق الكوتشينة

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We’ve exhausted all channels. We can’t continue to be victims of unjust application of the law. Rights are for all. On Tuesday 21st Jan we will deliver the people’s Agenda 2020 to the nation come what may. #peoplesgovernment,” Chamisa tweeted. بث 365

Chamisa and his Zanu-PF counterpart, President Mnangagwa are under pressure to engage in dialogue as Zimbabwe’s economic and political situation continues to worse.
