Milk production Figures Jan-Aug 2024
HARARE – In the first eight months of this year, Zimbabwe produced 75.2 million litres of milk, a 19.3% increase from 63 million litres during the same period last year. Month by month, milk production grew to 10.1 million litres in August, compared to 9.9 million litres in July. This upward trend is promising for the industry.
Total milk intake by processors also rose, reaching 69.2 million liters in the first eight months, compared to 57.8 million liters during the same period last year. However, the high cost of production continues to impact the sector’s competitiveness both regionally and internationally.
